It was our first time sailing the San Diego Bay and none of us had experienced anything like it. Captain … More Kaya killed the motors and we actually SAILED; no engine noise, just the sails catching the wind and the boat cutting silently across the bay. The wind picked up quite a bit and the cat stayed stable and smooth the entire time. We chilled in the bow nets and in the comfy seats above them, as well as around the inside of the boat where there's a nice table to sit and talk, and Captain Kaya was super knowledgeable and a great host! We saw dolphins AND sea lions, and a dolphin actually put on a small show for us and we got lucky enough to capture it (see video). Captain Kaya was fun, funny, welcoming, and made our whole family feel right at home. Perfect for families wanting a day on the water; book it now!

We have been on many catamaran whale watch tours in Hawaii but this was a unique experience … More for us- it was true sailing! There were only 5 total passengers aboard which made for a personal experience. As Ryan expertly guided the boat all around Mission bay and out to Point Loma he told us cool facts about the area as well as how the sailboat works. My 10 year old daughter even hit to help Ryan sail at the end! It was a very memorable experience. Would love to go out again one day!

Ryan had beverages on board, explained everything … More we needed to know in simple terms, then took us on what can only be described as the sports car of cstermarans, we were flying down the bay, yet the boat felt so stable and it was easy to stand up. What really added an even better experience was that Ryan really knew the and answer to every question we threw his way from Portuguese history in the area to what the naval base was up to and lots of landmarks. Because it’s so lightweight, you don’t really need to use the motor. You really experience the … More sounds of the water and the peaceful feeling of zipping through the waves. Somehow it was both exhilarating and relaxing. The boat can get into narrow and shallow places other boats can’t get into. You can see so much of the bay. The sunset was gorgeous. We saw dolphins and the historic Coronado hotel. The only thing I would’ve done differently is to bring a wind resistant layer, especially for February. Captain Ryan, who has his generational roots in San Diego, knew so much about all the landmarks, nature, and history of the area. He had answers in detail to every question I asked. I have been on other sailing trips even in this area, and this is one I look forward to returning to. If you’re looking for an immersive adventure where you can experience the natural beauty of the bay and the stunning city skyline, look no further. You won’t be disappointed!
